Asian villas in style

The owners of many exotic luxury villas on tropical islands in South-East Asia rent them out direct to holidaymakers. In this article, we present four unique hideaways for individualists in quest of exclusive and tranquil vacations that still offer all the benefits of five-star service.

Reto Guntli

Song Saa,

Song Saa is a private island in the Koh Rong archipelago of Cambodia, an unknown and unspoilt Asian paradise. Waiting for guests in its sophisticated seclusion are outstanding service, excellent food, all kinds of water sports, a spa, various yoga, fitness and meditation options.

Australian owners Rory and Melita Hunter demonstrate with their villa project how remote regions of Asia can be sustainably developed with social commitment.

Koh Samui, Thailand

Atop a hill on the tropical Thai island of Koh Samui, the Panacea Retreat looks majestically down over groves of palm trees and white sandy beaches. Situated in the midst of a huge landscaped garden with a tennis court, the residences have between four and six bedrooms and their own pool. Healthy eating, spa, yoga, fitness and sport are the order of the day at the resort – perfectly in keeping with the concept of Panacea, the Greek goddess of healing.

Evgenia Slyusarenko was personally responsible for the interior design of the five villas.

Royal Phuket

Marina, Phuket, Thailand

The Royal Phuket Marina on the east coast of the tropical islandof Phuket is ideal for fans of boats and yachts, since no other marina allows you to dock your yacht right in front of your luxury holiday villa. More than 30 well-known and less well-known islands are less than an hour’s sail away and keen divers have the loveliest coral fairylands within easy reach.

Gulu Lalvani and his son Zoran, owner and manager of the marina, live themselves in one of the five splendid luxury villas.

Villa3 LaemSon,

Phuket, Thailand

This heavenly villa stands high up on a cliff on the west coast of Phuket. Three traditional roomy Thai pavilions stand amid magnificent gardens with terraces, tinkling fountains and lotus ponds. The resort also has a paradise for children, a 42-metre infinity pool and, needless to say, first-class service that leaves no wish unfulfilled – everywhere you turn, right round the clock.

Immaculately appointed and equipped, the luxury villa provides accommodation for a total of ten people.
When owner Olivier Croonenberghs is not living in his luxury villa himself, he rents it out to guests.
