Vietnam on the move

The country’s young population is facing the future with confidence and energy. Tourism is booming: Buddhist tradition and colonial heritage, the most beautiful beaches in Asia, exquisite cuisine and hotels in gorgeous settings make Vietnam one of the hottest destinations in Asia.

“An Englishman in Vietnam”: Anthony Gill is the proud manager of the gorgeous hotel The Nam Hai in Hoi An, that now belongs to the luxurious Four Seasons group.
In the Nam Hai’s Cooking Academy, guests learn the subtleties of Vietnamese cuisine.
The romantic Nam Hai hotel offers its guests single villas or vast villa complexes with a pool and ocean views. Elegant design, stylish interiors, first-rate service and perfect privacy guaranteed.
View of Danang Bay from the beach front villa of the Nam Hai Resort, one of the prime addresses in Asia.
Pure magic: Under a full moon, the charming UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An celebrates the Moon Festival. Lanterns light up the town, attracting hundreds of visitors.
Japanese traders built the Hoi An bridge in the shape of a pagoda in the 17th century. The bridge remains Hoi An’s main attraction and is a popular backdrop for photos, day and night.
A variety of arts and crafts are on offer all over Hoi An’s Old Town. At night, the streets are lined with restaurants, cafés and bars. Among the best: the Q Bar.
Hotel manager Herbert Laubichler-Pichler’s latest coup: The luxury beach resort The Anam recently opened near the well-known seaside town Nha Trang attracts families and relaxation seekers from far and wide.

Caution: The customised treatments and relaxed atmosphere of the Anam’s spa may be addictive.
Spoilt for choice at the beach or in the resort: In the evenings, succumb to the seduction of the many restaurants showing off their culinary ingenuity with local and international cuisine. We recommend the warm banana cake for dessert.
Happy hour at the beach: pure romance with a view of the South China Sea.
The name says it all: heads of state and other celebrities have spent a night at the recently renovated and expanded Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel in Hanoi. It still emanates an air of the Indochina of old. sofitel.com/Hanoi
